Hello I have a 98 Lingenfelter C5 that keeps giving the message 'Trans. Temp High' then just says trans fluid HOT. Can anyone shed any light on any possible causes or reasons for this issue? Changing the fluid on this beast seems like quite an undertaking too!

Well, there are only several things it could be:
bad sensor or indicator.
low fluid
internal gear problem
trans fluid coller stopped working (assuming your Ling has one)
I'd check the fluid level and top it up. It's not that difficult to change or add fluid -- alot cheaper than replaceing a trans.

 

Flush out the tranny and see if it helps it out.
