What clutch to buy for my 98' C5?
My master cylinder in my car just went out and while we are in there replacing it I decided that now would be the time to get the clutch replaced as well since my car has 90k miles on it. I was thinking about getting a Z06 master/slave cylinder and while I was at it I thought maybe a Z06 clutch would be better then the stock OEM parts? Especially if its a direct bolt on?
What are you thoughts, can I spend the same money on a better clutch?
Ideally I want a direct bolt on clutch nothing to fancy. I plan to keep the car at stock HP so I dont need much just something that will last.
Thanks...
BTW im not a noob I just cant remember my old password so I had to re-register....apparently my email addy isnt the same either

The ZO6 is a better clutch than stock, and really quite good for up to about 500 HP. If you have a stock engine, etc, you might just slip one in and be done with it.
for more power, I have had good luck with SPEC clutches, either stage II or Stage III. We have the stage III in both the vette and the Camaro. Until you get used to it, it does shudder a lot, but it grabs like nothing else and will not wear out, even with abuse. HJowever a Stage II is easier to drive and better than a stock ZO6.

I am not certian that the slave cylinder for the ZO6 is any different than that for the stock C5. I would suspect they are the same. I was under the impression you could just replace a standard C5 clutch with a Zo6 one, but not certain.
I'm not sure where to find the best price. I'd serach the net and try clutches from the various advertisers here. I'm pretty sure I remember Ecklers carrying the ZO6 clutch but I don't know what price.
