Default Will a cold air intake change the sound of my car?

I'm thinking about getting a cold air intake installed on my vette. I know it will slightly increase the HP, but am wondering if it will change the sound of my car. Right now, it has a deep throaty sound and I like it that way. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
RJ

Rita, I did my cold air intake and my car sounds the same. But I'm new at this so let's see what the others have to say.

Nope, it does not affect the sound of the car at all. Nary a bit. You might *feel* the change, though... it does add a few ponies to the equation.

Hi, Guys!
Thanks for getting back to me on this one. HOTDOG!! I love the fact that it will give my vette extra umff! It is an affordable way to go until I have the spare change to supercharger my baby.

BTW - I just order my puck lifts, since reading the post on this forum. I noticed a few scratches on my car after taking it in one time. I just spoke to the dealership and they said they will fix those scratches on their dime. I had no idea there could be any problems as a result of lifting my vette. Live and learn. This forum is very informative and filled with a lot of great people. Thanks again.
Stay safe.
Rita

Yea I agree, won't effect the sound coming out the exhaust at all, you may hear that nice "whooshing" sound from under the hood, but than again, who's listening to that when you got that nice "ROAR"

A whoosh is good . . . I like the sound of a whoosh. To me, it just sounds like you have more under the hood.

I sent you the info on the air intake in a separate email.
Hope that helps.

I can't hear any wooosh because my supercharger screams to loud.

By the way gorichb, I love the color of your vette. Is that orange?

Supper Charger
YEAaaaaaaa

And not sure if it's just the picture or my digital camera, but the color of my 98 is Torch red. Maybe it's just from that natural fade of being 8 yrs. old.

and BTW

Thank You [sm=thanx.gif]
