Just curious, Im a new vette owner, and was wondering if it is required for me to use premium fuel i can i just run normal fuel. Car is a 2002 Z06, thanks

 

I have the same car 2002 Z06 and have been running mid grade with no problems. On the gas door says "Premium Reccomended". Not "use premium only" like my caddillac STS. If I plan to run it hard I use Premium.

 

The ECM will back off on timing, etc. to avoid detonation if you run on lower than premium grade gas, you will do no damage but will get less power andeconomy. The405 HP (say 355 RWHP) will probably be down to around 385 (say 340-345) nlow grade pump gas. I would run premium.

My '02 vette, when stock, dynoed at around 352-355 on premium and around 360 on 102 octance racing gas, by the way: despite what you often hear the ECM swing goes both ways. Never tested it on regular, though.
