installin a 160 stat
hi
i am installing a 160 stat instead of i think a 195 in my 03.
once done i have to get the fsn to turn on earlier. i read that the fan comes in at different times? are their 2 settings? i want it to some on at close to 160 or so not 190.
how can i do this? read about some modules? some descriptions on "how to" seemed long. i dont havce a downloader at this time. maybe at work i can get a mechanic to help, not sure. what do i need to know?do's and donts?
thanks,

RE: installin a 160 stat
Installing them is a breeze. Advanced auto parts helped me install mine when i bought it from there. As far as I'm concerned it just makes the fan kick on at 160 as opposed to 195. (I do believe 195 is correct as well).

RE: installin a 160 stat
thanks, i am running about , well over 200, not overheating at all. its been real hot here, temps in the low 100's.
i thought installing a 160 stat was a good thing? i did it a long time ago in a 97 c5. i did not change the comp settings. all i did was change the stat. for my info, why dont i want it to highway run or around town at say 180?
it seems to run real well first thing in the am before it gets real hot?
not that it does not run well at full temp, it does.
can you guys explain?
thanks in advance
