Default '07 LS2 Engine Tick...How Many Have It?

My 2007, 4-month old, 600 mile beauty seems to have a "tick" that goes up and down with RPM. Don't hear it as much at start up, actually a little more so when ran for awhile. Not terribly loud, but I hear it. I've read some other threads on it, but I'm most interested in how many 'Vette owners have something similar. I figure this is the best way to deem it normal or not.

Thanks! I am amazed how some people treat these cars like coffee table books - "nice to look at but you don't want to turn too many pages". This car is meant to be driven and our weather has been amazing. My dealer tells me that most vette owners "North of Chicago", only put about 3,000 miles per year on their cars! Why bother owning it if you don't drive it right? I know Porsche owners who drive their C4's all year round.

Now that doesn;t meant I don't respect it. My idea of fun is 4 hours of detailing after a good wash and dry.

Yeah, Right. Anyway, all the guys in our local Car Clubs think I'm cool cause I know about cars and I like 'em and all that Jazz. All the kids think I'm a wierd-o. But that's ok, I don't care, you can fix a car when they leave you stranded. (Old car clubs as I like to call them. Because the cars AND the people are OLD!!!! lol) My daddy is 54 also.

I agree. Cars are meant to be driven, and I don't agree with anyone who keeps a "garage queen" --although my 'vette seems like one because it only does about 6000 miles a year (mainly because with drag radials it can only go out on dry days, and because I only drive about 14000 miles a year total -- the rest in the Porsche).

The other point, which might honk off some people, is that I think very very few cars are such works of art, or so special that they need or should be preserved. If I owned a 1946 Cisitalia (http://www.moma.org/exhibitions/2002...cisitalia.html) I might make an exception. But a vette, even a"rare" one -- no.I think you drive then and enjoy them and just take care of them. I have a good friend who I respect greatly beause he drives his '02 ZO6 nearly every day, but takes such good care of it it looks brand new -- I mean just perfect -- after 4 years, and who has piled lots of miles on his '79 L82 vette, which still looks like it is less than a year old, he's taken such good care of it.

That's how to own and car forgood car.

Even the Ferrari F50 - only 349 produced - I would still drive if I had one. Granted, it wouldn't be my daily driver, for this reason, it is quite easy to stall the car under 4,000 RPM. But it would be my weekend warrior. Sorry boys, but I'd take that baby to the track every week and WHOOP Corvettes. Can't compare to a F1 car for the road. Anywho, that's just how I feel about cars, and that's how I'll always treat my cars, even the beaters
