Hi everyone here.....I am a new member. Own a 2006 Corvette, base model, Manual Transmission LS2, Daytona Sunset Metallica Orange. I bought it three years ago, and have put about 40,000 miles on it since. Its my daily driver here in Western PA, almost every day, except for when it snows....which it rarely does anymore. I love driving the car, and its mostly in stock form, except for ZR1 rear spoiler and Borla Stinger Type II axle back exhaust. I have a blast hitting the country roads around here, and its everything I need. A Z06 is in my dreams some day....but honestly, I really don't need it. And this DSOM color on my car is the best paint color I have ever seen on a car. I love it. I also own and restored a 1977, with original color orange....now sporting a 400 SBC built from aftermarket parts. More on that one over in the C3 section. I love them both.....but honestly if I could only have one....it would be the 77. Driving it is the most fun driving car I have ever driven....sorry C6 guys.
It's slow sometimes compared to other Corvette forums. But it still has interesting people and stories. Most of the problems people have there cars are simple questions that they hope that someone has had or delt with. Most of time it's hard to diagnose the problem from owner states questions without no hand's on and history of the car. But I check the forums Daily to see what's happening. Your cars look great, you spend a lot of time on them, it shows your appreciation of your cars. It might seem like nobody's home here But there are a few of us here
Well Its Monday October 21 it will be beautiful 70 degrees in Boise Idaho today. Had the 77 out a week ago and it ran very well on the around the block adventure to warm it up. The next step for that car will be body work and paint when I get time for it. Until then my wife and I will finish the house flooring that we are living in, out of 2100 sq ft. to replace we have done maybe 400 3/4in oak finished hardwood. Then after that I have my son's 84 2500 GMC with a 2000 6.0L Silverado engine and transmission that he wants a cam and lifter's installed with the front differential rebuild done before spring time. And read Corvette forums at times. Staying busy in retirement.
Sure not much activity on this forum......why is that?
Many many years ago before I found this Corvette forum, I participated in the big Corvette forum for a while. Then I found out that if you posed a simple question, you were ostracized or made fun of for asking such a simple question. Since then I've heard other people finding out the same thing. We try to be as welcoming as we can here and help others solve problems.

As with many online forums / social media,.......opinions and abuse is commonplace. I certainly see some of that on the "big" Corvette forum. And maybe, some people would say I was one of the offenders, but I don't agree with that. My opinions about many things related to this C3 Corvette hobby are often not the "mainstream" opinion.....and I have no problem stating my feelings. But.....I believe I always did it with respect, but even with respect.....SOME people are offended by someone, such as myself,....who doesn't always share the "mainstream" opinion on many subjects....i.e. five speed overdrive transmissions, electric cooling fans, race motors installed in a street car, proclaimed "experts" who screwed me out of $15000 plus dollars in junk engine builds...etc etc. But I thought it was just a bunch of guys on a forum....just like a bunch of guys at a car show......but "some" members couldn't handle my viewpoints, reported me....and the **** leadership at Internet Brands who run the "big" Corvette forum took a position with me.....and banned me for life. In other words....I was censored from social media....a common thing going on now in America,....the land of what once was free. Free speech....as long as you agree with the mainstream narrative....otherwise, the power hungry moderators censor you.
Yeah....after 15 plus years of daily contributions to the technical and social thread.......I am a little pissed off that irrelevant comments made on a public forum "offended" certain members....and more importantly that the moderators on that forum took their side against me.
So......we will see how this Forum handles me. I will do the best I can to be respectful...but I am not big on censorship of personal opinions and diffrences from the "mainstream" narratives.
