Default Anyone heard of Cartek?? and engine help!!

ok so i went to this place in New Jersey called Cartek and i got my motor done up with everything, has anyone on here gotten aythiny done by this company, or no anything about there parts cause i got the hole 3x package and they put an experimental Cam in the car called the stage 3xR, and its a pretty radical cam, and they said that until some better softwhere come out for tuning the computer it cant be tuned properly this is causeing the engine light to be on, the car runs fine but it has a bit ofa ruff idle and they have the idle set high so the car will not stall.and when they put the 90mm throttle body on it wasnt workin right cause they couldnt tune it right cause they dont have the softwhere to tune it so they put one on with a hole drilled on it toget more air flow i guess but bottom line they said its only like that cause they dont have the sofwere to tune the computer yet cause like they still cant adjust the rev limiter or anything like that cause of the computer, sorry for the long post any help would be appreciated.

hay, i would bring back your $60000.00 doller corvette back to them, and have them put it back the way it was.sounds like your ride is a guinea pig for them.how do you no that they are even going to get a program for your car, then you are stuck with a vette that doesent run right. you are crazy if you dont have them fix it right,...good luck[]

I also had a bad experience with these people (Cartek). I didn't let them work on my C6, I did order some parts from them, and got some real garbage in my package. Poor instructions, for
installing their Kit that was supposed to be easy to install! I sure couldn't recommend them to any one.

You might be sort of screwed. I would try calling around and finding some other shop that can tune a C6, but I doubt you will find someone who can do it fully. I understand that software to edit C6s as well as C5s can be edited (i.e., ridgebackphattie's car) is not available. I hear that most of the heavy duty tuners (Lingenfelter) use some sort of C5 controller and reprogram to control the really powerful C6 engines they make.

It seems to me that Cartek was very unprofessional and unethical to sell you this package unless they told you up front that they could not program it fully. You may have a chance in small claims court but I would not think it worthwhile. I also would be suspicious of anything they told you, such as how wonderful that "experimental" cam really is.

I have heard good things about them. I understand there is a guy named Dave that will do you right. Talk with him if you need some reassurance on their work. I know a guy that has had work on his T/A there and loves those guys. He recommended I spend some cash up there. Word is that they get a lot of business and may experience a lot of back logging of jobs and over promise...
too bad they did not let you in on the issue up front. Hope all turns out okay. I was thinking of the same mods...not as radical though yet...
