Battery Info
Hello All.
I'm a new Vette owner...recently purchased a 2005 Coupe, manual,Z51, Nav, Xm, etc. with only 9000 miles. Very happy except...
Thought I'd pass this info on since, after experiencing battery problem, and reading past posts on this forum it might be useful.
After having the car for about two weeks, and putting miles on it, I wake up one morning to a dead battery. Jump started and charged the battery. At this point, I researched this issue and read that several people have experienced this (even on Carrera's). Anyhow, couple of days later, same dead battery problem. I'm positive everything was off and in reverse when I parked the car. This is when I took the car to a local Chevy Dealer for troubleshooting.
As it turns out, there is a GM Bulletin out ona vehicle software bug that causes more parasitic draw on the battery then its suppose to so, the service department loaded updated software.
Fingers crossed that this was truely the problem!
