2009 34k miles. Started the engine after setting one week. Oil pressure gauge immediately went to 79 PSI. Checked the DIC and it displayed the same. Engine sounded fine, oil and filter changed 1,000 miles ago. Oil checked good. No exhaulst smoke. Disconnected battery and reconnected after 10 minutes....no change....I suspect the oil pressure sensor...any help appreciated...tks

I agree with your assessment. The first thing I would check would be the oil pressure sensor.

 

Going in the shop. Local Master Corvette Mech. says it's not too uncommon. Oil leaks out of pressure sensor causing failure. Expect $400-450 for parts and labor to replace. No easy access near firewall so intake manifold has to be removed. Love expensive toys...had to replace radiator due to cracked plastic end cap. Installed all aluminum Dewitt for $1300. Guess I'll keep it until the wheels go square..LOL. Thanks..
