Default Cheap paint??

I also posted this on LS1tech. Does anyone else have a problem with getting rock chips in their paint? The dealer repainted the one rocker panel and it has small chips in it already. any suggestions?

It's funny, but I have been telling everyone how good the paint is on the Vette. If you really want to see an example of cheap paint, look at the front end of a 350Z sometime.
I had an 04 350Z that I boughth new and drove it for32,000 miles. I traided it in for the C6 back in April. When I would sit down at the front of the Z to wax the car below the hood line, the car almost looked like it was sand blasted. I really regretted not getting a clear bra when I bought it.
In contrast I'm comimg up on 5 months with the Vette and there isn't a mark on the car. In my case something like a clear bra is not necessary.
Maybe one option for you would be to repaint the chpped area, and have something like clear bra applied after the paint cures for about a month.

The dealership already repainted it once. A week later theres rock chips in it again. Is the Atonic Orange a soft color? The car only has 600 miles on it. Maybe I'll trade it in and get a different color [:@]

I have the Victory Red and it has 11k miles on it and it hasonly microscopic chips. I wash and wax it all the time myself and check for any chips. It looks better than showroom, has a better shine to it.

BTW, Something scary happened today. A strayshopping cart came out of Petsmart and rolled right into my car (at full speed, or so it seemed). I couldnt back up to get away as there was a suv behind me. I pulled over right away to see the damage and it appeared something not too serious! Went home and just wiped it off and waxed where there were still marks and it came right off. Had my car been metal, I would have a dent for sure. Anyways, alittle off subject but if you like the Orange I would keep it, no other color gets less rock chips.

Just enjoy your car because you never know when a shopping cart can really ruin your day!

I have a 1998 that doesn't really have any rock chips when you consider its age. I think you might just be having a streak of bad luck.
