Geiger Counter noise from left side of dash
Anyone else with this problem? My 2007 C6, when parked in the sun, will have a noise that sounds like a geiger counter coming from the left side of the dash when I put it in gear. It's like something is expanding while getting hot from the sun. Sometimes it can be very loud and continues when I drive, other times it is brief. It eventually goes away while I drive. I'm going in for service and I just know the techs will act as if they have never heard of this, or will tell me it is not doing it for them. I'm hoping someone else has experienced this so I can tell them where to look

OK, this is kind of a long shot, but are you sure it's not coming from the roof?
Sometimes when I have parked in the sun the roof panel has expanded and will creak when the car goes over any little bump or turn. My fix is when I am not moving I just release both front levers for the roof panel, then flip them closed again. This repostions the roof just enough to where it stops the noise. This works 100% of the time for me.

You're long shot was right on it seems. Just picked the car up and the noise appears to be gone, and it was from the roof panel. There is a service bulletin 05-08-59-003E to replace front guides and lube guides at rear locator pins. They also installed terminal ends to shim rollers and lubricated handle bolts per bulletin PIC 4867. You might consider taking your car in and quoting these bulletins.
