Sweet!
Congrats on the new C6! I haven't read any automotive pubs that have road tested 6L80 (RPO MYC) trans yet. It will probably be tested by Car & Driver, Road & Track, MotorTrend, etc really soon!

Here is some info you may find interesting. Technical data from GM. No performance specs just yet.

Default RE: how fast

I'm going to be very interested to see how fast it is. I would guess it will do 0-60 times in the upper 4 second range, and sub 13 second times in the quarter, maybe a tenth second behind the M6. Its worth nothing that there is no appreciable difference in performance between the manual and automatic Mustang V8 (both have the same 300 HP V8 and 5 speeds).

The last time I drove a powerful GM automatic was in '98, when I drove auto and manual versions of the LS1 Camaro back to back. The auto version was known to be slower to 60 and in the quarter than the M6, but of course when you add a lot of power, as I intended to, the auto is better for the drag strip. Anyway, the automatic just seemed so, . . primative . . . in its downshifting, etc., it kicked down too abruptly, etc., that I bought the M6 (never regreted that, by the way).T

But I have a 5-speed Tiptronic in my Porsche, which I bought after back to back drives of it and a identifical car except for the Porsche M6 about six months about -- smartest transmission in the world and it makes for the best "urban road warrior" I've ever driven. The car only does 13.5 in the quarter mile but it is unbeatable in traffic and on the street. Seems to know when I want to single- or double downshift, holds gears when I'm cornering, and upshifts at just the right time. If GM can even come close to this level of smarts with its 6 speed auto (and I bet it can), they have a winner.

That said, what worries me is that I saw a road test of something big, don't know where of when (but it was recent) but a big thing like an Escalade or Tahoe or something like that, with the A6 instead of A4, and C&D or Motor Trend or whoever reported it was no faster (although the review said the trans was much smarter) -- GM used the extra gears to get extra economy, not extra performance.

Only time will tell, but I really want to drive one soon.
