Default lowering kit

i just put the west coast corvette lowering kit on my '05 vette. i got it aligned right after doing it as recommended by WCC. the car handles even tighter then before, which i didn't think was possible. it also changes the look by eliminating the tire to fender wall gap, i think it looks much better. i'll post some pics if anyone wants. my reason for the post is to see if anyone has heard of problems with this mod. if so please reply. it only took like 3 hours to put on and is just as easily undone as its just a replacement for the stock adjustable suspension pads ( not possible with the Z51). hope to hear from somebody about this. i haven't seen any other C6's with this kit. thanks.

I have a lowering kit on my C5 and the ride is horrible how is your ride now that u lowered ur C6? It might also be due to my bigger rims but I really think its the lowering kit. Your right though the look and preformance gain is great!

It is a nice look having the car lowered even an inch or two. And any "lowered" car will handle better than a car of stock height. Lower center of gravity. Ride may sacrifice a bit, and also the lower profile tire you have will hurt ride quality also, (less rubber between the rim and the road), this will definately give you a firmer ride.

Would love to see some pics - please post. I'm also interested in how stiff this has made the ride.

Cheers,

Dave

I would also like to see some pics off the car now that you had it lowered. I think it would make the world of a difference and am thinking about doing my C6 as well.

Not sure what a lowering kit does. I lowered my vette 1 inch in front and .8 inches at the rear just by adjusting the adjustable portions on the suspension, then had it re-aligned on all four corners. Still handles like it should, looks a bit better, and less air gets underneath which is sort of critical at the speeds it can reach in the mile. Only problem is the front air dam won't go over speed bumps now without scraping.

Just had my 05 lowered yesterday using the kit from WCC. The car looks better but the ride is more harsh than firm. Haven't had a real chance to drive it yet, but I will today. I'll post my impressions later.

Here is a pic from before. I would lowered as far as it would go in the back and left about 2 fingers between the ground and the skirt in the front..... pain for speed bumps and such, but looks so sweet.
