OK, finally got the window, and a local auto glass shop installed it. He had NEVER heard of any thing like I described. The window went in with out a hitch and all the tracks line up just fine. When the door opens and the glass slides down a touch, when you close the door it zips right up where it is supposed to be. Don't think I will ever get an answer to this one, nor am I anxious to test out the Panic Button either.

I was at a stop sign not a soul in sight anywhere when all the sudden the loudest boom I never heard inside my car. At first I thought my car back barter something so I checked the instrument gauges make sure no idiot lights came on and then I proceeded to drive off. After about a mile or so I glanced in my rearview mayor to my shock and realized I couldn’t see out the back window it had completely shattered then I realize that’s what the exploding sound was . So I can empathize with other people who have the same experience the temperature was between 65 and 70 in November 2017 . I live in Pensacola Florida there was nobody mowing the grass nearby nobody through anything at the car just exploded the only thing that kept it from falling everywhere or shooting out what is the window tint. Please can anyone help me figure out what to do next

 

I've read about sun roofs in Hyundias doing that same thing .

 

Tempered glass is very highly stressed and in some instances it does not take much to turn it into a pile of glass gravel. In the cases of unexplained self-destruction, it was probably due to some minor imperfections in the glass itself. It's like it was on a hair trigger.
