Default Need help removing writing from window

Hello all,

The dealership that orginally had my vette wrote on the driver side window with (I'm assuming) grease pencil or shoe polish. In certain light, you can still see the shadow from the writing. Does anyone know how to get this off? The guys atmy dealership said to use vinegar and a razor blade, but that didn't work.

Thanks for your help!

There are two products which I would recommend. WD40 and/or a "Bug & Tar" remover product may help dissolve the compund used. I have found this to be quite effective. Also once cleaned, make sure you wash it with a product like Dawn as the alcalyn base will breakdown any furhter wax residue.

that is my 2 cents worth. Good luck.

big diff between grease and shoe polish. wd 40 or avon skin so soft both will not hurt anything but they need time to work

WD-40 should do the trick, Amazing stuff.
also, if by chance it don't work than 3M adhesive remover will work for sure. I know your thinking it's not adhesive, but it will rid your window of the film you see,

True enough that there's a big difference between shoe polish and grease. Unfortunately I don't know what they used. You guys have certainly given me a lot of options to try. I really appreciate it! As soon as itFINALLY stops raining in my neck of the woods, I'll give them a try. Nothing like buying a black car just prior to a month's worth of rain. AUGH!!!!
