Gents:

Been a long time since I've been on here...but nonetheless, I wanted to throw a question out to you all. I've been tempted by the marketing (2008 Vettes for 0%/5 years). What do you think a fair price is for one? I like the blue, which I see is a $600 option and for the side airbags - I like the 2LZ trim package. No Navigation (don't need that on a track...and it isn't a road trip car). I'm also thinking just the stock wheels...since I would get a set for track only...don't want to pay the $1500 or whatever it is for the chrome wheels.

Any thoughts on if I am obsolutely out of my mind to buy new? My 2002 Z06 is paid off...but I know I'm gonna get killed in selling it or trading it in....

I guess others react like I do. It's your decision and there is just nothing to add. You stated all the facts well, so you clearly realize you'd take a hit on the older car but get a good deal on the new one, and a hefty car payment for a while. You like the new car. I really can't think of anything to add. If you want it, go ahead. It's only money.

 

True...only money...and I can't take it with me when I die

 

Of course, you can't take the 'vette with you when you die, either, but it's a lot easier to enjoy while you are alive than a pile of cash sitting in a safe.

 

exactly! Well...I did it...as of yesterday. I now own an 08 Z...about to post some pics in a separate thread! lol
