Default Z51 Options Question

As a first-time owner, I was surprised to see that my C6 has a couple of Z51 options, though not a Z51. It has the Magnetic Selective Ride and also the Larger Cross-drilled Rotors. Where these options frequently added to the 3lt base models?
Thanks again.

I don't know about the cross drilled rotors but I know that the magnetic selective ride is available as a standalone option.

I believe you can get a copy of your window sticker from the National Corvette Museum. Check on their website. I suspect that the cross-drilled rotors were on aftermarket add-on.

Both are on window sticker. Think the other Z51 options were special suspension and a bit more horsepower maybe others.
Thank you for reply.

I believe the the Z51 was a option on most Corvettes like the LT3 and LT4s. Your car must have been ordered that way.

I'm not sure how many cars were ordered with that option, GM assembly plant has the spects on that but I'm sure there were many. The Z51 suspension would be a plus except for the magnetic shocks when they need replacement. Most guys replace the shocks with Bilsteins with the shock sensor deletes.

NCM has option breakdown by year since the Bowling Green plant opened. Might even be available on their website. Most, if not all, of the Z51 option are available separately.

I know there are issues with magnetic shocks. So is "magnetic ride control" the same? Thanks for replies, I've got a lot to learn.

If the dash switch says Mag Ride it must have the good shocks, computerized. You can look up the Z51 options and they usually contain Suspension upgrades, like Brakes and upgraded Capiliers and stabilizer bars. Performance exhaust, cooling system and limited slip differential. Tire and wheel Package also, 245/40ZR18 front and 285/35ZR19 rear. If you have these things you almost have a Z06. There should be an option sheet in the car somewhere that have the option codes, in the glove box or console.

The mag ride option uses magnetic shocks which are controlled by a computer.

Since the OP has a copy of the window sticker then it should tell him if it has a Z51 option or just some of the options that are part of the Z51 package.

Window sticker says, "Magnetic Selective Ride Control" and there is a switch beside the Traction control button to either use Tour or Sport setting. I also found in driver information screen a Competition Mode. I think it was when traction is turned off and Sport mode is selected.
Note: The Mag Ride Comtrol was $1995 option.
I have contacted Corvette Museum to see how much information and can get from them. I will post anything new that I may receive.
Thanks again for all your replies.
