Default 07 or 08

Are any changes going to be made between the 07 and 08 Z's? Ive got a friend who is looking to trade in his 07 C6 for a Z and wanted me to do some research as to whether he should go with an 07 or 08.... Of course we know what 09 will have in store, but of course by then it will be a $100k car when its all said and done....

So what changes will be made for 08?

Thanks

Nope, no changes in the car itself. Price on the other hand might be more.... 2% - 3% increase is possible.

'08 Manuals get the Tremec 6060 Tranny which is rated over 600lbs of torque. The steering rack has also been modified. If your into leather, the 4lt and 3lz (z06) get the new leather interior packages + carbon fiber center console. Enough changes that I put one on order in liew of grabbing an '07 fwiw.

GM has been a master at nearly always changing just enough items on the 'vette from year to year that there seems to be good value in getting the newer model. The transmission/rear end changesmight be significant if you plan to modify the car: that is a known weakness in modified C5s and C6s and requires $$ to fix. The rest of the changes aren't the type to get me excited: carbon fiber console? -- the present piece weighs about 2 lbs so the weight savings is insignificant -- wish they'd use it for more body pieces, though.
Overall, though, I doubt there will be any difference in performance, 07 to 08. Realize that the standard C6 gets more displacement and HP for 08 and so the Z's margin over the standard model shrinks, but it still has about 20% more HP.
