Post TPMS tire pressure problems

I am seeing a big discrepancy between the pressures my 2006 C06 is displaying on the TPMS and those I measure with my gauge. I am pretty sure the gauge is correct because I checked it against another gauge. I am driving in Utah on vacation, hot 100 plus. The left rear for example TPMS reads 42 psi (giving me a high pressure alert). When I stopped and gauged that tire I get a reading 10 psi lower. I gauged the other tires and the readings are generally off by plus or minus 3 degrees, depending on which tire. I have never reset the sensors.
I have two questions.
#1 Should I believe the gauge or sensors? I tend to want to believe the gauge but 10 psi is a big difference. If I adjust the rear tire to the gauge reading I believe I will get a low pressure alert. That will be a nuisance but acceptable until I can get home.
#2 How does one reset the TPMS system?
Any help will be appreciated.
