Default Problems with the C8

I have heard of some problems with the C8.
Brakes squeal.
Frunk flies open on its own when driving.
Water pooling in the engine bay after washing.

Does anyone know when GM will have these things fixed?
Thanks

Default C8 problems

I believe there’s a recall issued on the “ frunk “ latch if I remember correctly. As for the pooling water in the engine compartment I’ve heard of the problem but haven’t heard any other news about this

I think there are some vents that can allow water to enter under certain conditions but I haven't heard of any fixes yet. I believe the latch recall is a software change. Check w/ your dealer's service dept.

I have had zero brake squealing on my 2021. Frunk has never opened on mine so far (1100 miles). As far as water pooling, I just avoid spraying on the vents unless I have time to mask with masking tape which comes off easily. Not a problem.

Welcome to the forum.

I am surprised that they didn't put some type of channel under the vent to funnel the water to the ground similar to the way the Ford did on the Transit van.

There have been quite a few "gremlins" in the early C8 cars.. Water in the front shock towers. Condensation Water soaking the passenger side carpet. Daily OTA computer updates. Most have been addressed and fixed by GM. Hopefully my 2022 will have all the bugs GONE. I'm lucky, I'm only 4 miles from my dealer

Looks like December. I chose a buying program offered by my dealer to pay a bit over MSRP in order to avoid a two year wait
