1985 corvette won't stay running
my 1985 corvette is multi-port injected won't stay running more than a few seconds. The cold-start injector is the only thing shooting fuel in the motor. Once that burns off it dies. I checked all injectors fuel is all the way to each tip but they won't open up. Corect fuel pressure is there at the rail also. No trouble codes, just the normal code 12 flashing. I thought maybe the computer was bad not telling the injectors to open up. Idon't have a diagnostic scanner to interface with the onboard computer to diagnose. please help if possible. Thanks. jec327

RE: 1985 corvette won't stay running
1st thing you need to do is check your power to injectors. Unplug one of the injectors and turn key on, check for power at one of the terminals. If you have power, then check all fuses, particularly the ECM fuses. The cold start injector is not controlled by ECM, but by thermotime switch. Ported injectors are are grounded by ECM to control injector pulse width. If you are only getting a 12 out of the diagnostic, you might have lost the injector quad driver in ECM. At any case, you might need someone with a scan tool to check for injector pulse width. Good luck. []

Thanks for the reply. Ihave power to injectors and all fuses are good. I will see if I can locate a scan tool. Its hard to borrow one and Snap-on wants $3000 to buy one, I heard there is software to buy for my computer that may work,is that true ?
