650 RW torque and 703 RWHP
Well, the 'vette is now home from the shop, with the D1S rebuilt with an A&A Corvette front bracket and tensioners, it now can produce 7.5 lbs of boost before belt slip sets in. Methonal injection really works, too: at full boost the intake air is at about 220 deg after the intercooler (as it heads to the throttle body), after the methonol injection the intake is down to about 100 degrees. This allows lots of advance.
Carolina Auto Masters did fantastic work. Everything is shipshape and solid. The methonal injection control box is neatly mounted on the dash and LED idicators (green for go, red for no) located near the speedo. And the numbers are good: 650 ft lbs of torque, 703 RWHP with a very broad power band. The engine is at 5 lbs of boost even at 3500 RPM.
They think it may be able to do 200 in the standing mile. We're going to try to take it down to Maxton next March to find out. I'm thinking of changing out the stock 3.42 gears for a lower ratio (3.00 would be ideal but I doubt that ratio is available), mostly to reduce wheelspin but also to get a 5th gear that would give 200 even.

There are some pictures in the gallery of it. The only difference now is that the tensioner bracket is a bit thicker and there is an extra hose coming into a small injector right atop the air intake just ahead of the throtthel body for the the methonal injection.

Wow Lee those are some truely impressive numbers, I can't wait to read what she does in the 1/4 mile. If you have the chance you should video tape the run so when can finally she that baby in action.
