Default California SMOG testing dilemma

California Vette owners mainly...

I moved to California recently and brought with me my C6, installed with an AIRAID aftermarket cold air intake. Before California will allow me to register my vehicle with the DMV, I have to pass a SMOG test - first. I've learned my AIRAID CAI is illegal for use in California, as determined by the California Air Resources Board, aka "CARB".
  • Simple solution here would be to remove the AIRAID CAI and replace it with the OEM Air Induction system
Problem I'm facing:

I discarded the OEM system ages ago, as I never anticipated ever having to use it again for any reason. The thought of moving somewhere requiring me to do so never even crossed my mind. I wasn't even considering moving to CA until a year ago.
  • I realize an option is to repurchase and reinstall an entirely new OEM air induction system, however beyond that...
What options do I have with these California SMOG testing businesses?
  • Are all SMOG testers the same?
  • Will all SMOG testers even recognize my CAI is not an OEM part (it does say AIRAID molded onto the aftermarket CAI air duct).
  • Will some SMOG testers look the other way?
I've found even purchasing and replacing an entirely new OEM system will prove difficult now, as some of the pieces are obsoleted on GMDirect online parts catalog (and similar), thus requiring me to having to resort to wrecking yards perhaps, not an attractive option for having to pass a simple SMOG test in California.

Also, there are no other CAI systems for my C6 LS2 that are "CARB" approved, I've looked everywhere. You can legally only use your OEM air induction system. If there is any other option that I could purchase somewhere, I have not found it, but I've looked for days.

Any Advice here would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
