Thanks so much for your reply. My vette is back from the dealership and all is well.

Take care, stay safe.

Yup, same here!
I feel blessed to have met such a fine group.

BTW -
Got my ride back from the dealership and they said everything is working just fine. They even gave me aservice information sheet that describes how the cooling system operates. Seems the low speed cooling fan doesn't turn on until the coolant temp reaches 226F, and turns off at 219F. The high speed cooling fan turns on when the coolant temp reaches 235F, and turns off at 226F.

Well, if someone would have told me that over the phone, I never would have brought it in. Guess they just wanted the money they make on warranty work..
Oh, well, glad she is back in the barn.

Now to get her clean and smelling good again. I swear, the inside of my vette smells like a greasy mechanic. My husband said I am hallucinating. (He is a real funny guy, huh?!?)

Take care, stay safe.
Rita

So glad to hear all ends well with this tale, Rita!!! I totally hear ya on the "greasy mechanic" smell in the car... even if it's not there, it is to you!! Your husband totally cracks me right up, Rita.

Yup, he thinks you are a scream, too.

Sorry, I have been away from the Forum, my father had a mild stroke and developed double pneumonia. It was very scary for a while and he still has a long way to go to recover, but God's omnipotent love and mercy has helped us through this difficult time. BTW - I have never heard back from Rich's wife, so I don't know what to say other than keep praying for all of them. That is such a very sad situation.

Take care, stay safe.
Rita

Oh no! Oh, Rita, how terrible. I am so sorry. He will be in our thoughts and prayers here, that's for sure. Let us know how it all goes?

[&o]Oh man... double whammy on the bad news here this morning..... I am at a total loss for words here. All I've got is my prayers for Rich and his family... thanks so much for trying like that, for us, Rita; we all appreciate it.

I thought you turned on the heat when your car got hot so it would take out the excess heat? I just want to ask for sure. Good information to know. Why dont you try a manual fan switch and switch to a lower thermostat?

Wow, I'm tripping over that because I see that as a problem in my book. maybe It's just that this car is my first vette ever. Still just seem high to me. Did they tell you why when your pressed the ac auto switch why the fan came on and stayed on? At least that is what mine does. 3/4 of the way up just seems high to me. The last thing that I want to do is over heat my vette!! I would think the fact that the heads are allum. they would have done a stop to that. I don't think that I am ready to give up the towl on that issue.

Thanks Rita,

Turley849
