Question Rjb

Having a problem starting my 87 after it sits for awhile.
Turn the key and nothing wait 3 to 4 minutes it starts right up.
It does this interminently, any thoughts as to what causes this???

Possibly there's a check valve near or in the fuel regulator,losing pressure delaying the start until the pump brings the pressure up. A gauge on the fuel rail would tell you what's happening.
