Run Craps
I have a screw in my run flat. I've been told not to plug it, I've been told you shouldn't patch it. Where I live there are not many that understand the whole run flat/tire sensor issue.
I'm about to plug it myself and call it good. I don't ever get over about 80 anyway, and the likelyhood of a blow out seems sort of remote.
At the same time, I don't want to buy a new tire at $350+ I've only got about 13K on these...
Anyone?

when i worked as a technician...i would NEVER plug a tire...i woudl find a shop that would go through the hasstle of dismounting the tire and putting a sealing patch which will fill the hole and surround area, covered with vulcanizing fluid. where abouts is the hole? how many tread lines from the sidewall?
Sorry I was gone for so long, I've been out of town for four days.
To answer the questions, the screw/nail is right in the middle of the tread pretty much.
I have considered going away from the run craps, but I want to get the last 10-15K miles out of these. This is the second set of tires I have had on the car (first replacement set), I was scared to not have a spare when I was replacing them so I went with the run-flats.
I agree on the patch, I'm just worried about someone busting my sensor when they try to take off the run flats. I have heard horror stories about it in the past. Next week I will look into this.
275-40-18 is correct, and yeppers, they are expensivo!

I have had mine dismounted and patched from the inside more than once. no problems, i went to goodyear and the tech said no prob they do vettes and other vehicles all the time with tire sensors. nothing really tricky about it just need to be aware of the location and size of the sensor. no biggie they charge me 30 bucks, it would have been 15 but they had to use the "special rack" since my 98 is lowered.
