Default Smell radiator

I just bought an 02 vette and today I was sitting in a drive thru for some time and watched the temp gauge go over 220. The fans never came on until I turned on the A/C. I thought this was strange.
I have heard that the stock theromstat is high temp and should be changed.
When I finally got home I could smell radiator fluid but found no leaks.
Anyone got any clues as to what i should do?[IMG][/IMG]

As far as smelling anti freeze, I wouldn't worry much. If your recovery bottle was above full/ hot, it may have spit a bit on the ground when you engine got up to 220 deg. Check your recovery bottle when cold just to make sure you didn't loose to much but I dought it. Asfar as getting that hot I would double check the fan switch. Although the main fan is controlled by the ecm. On my 88 i was able to put a lower temp switch on the engine and it made my aux. fans come on at 200deg. I also put in a 180deg. stat although now I plan on puting in a 160deg to go with my thermomaster chip as the chip turns on my main fan at 180deg. and it will run steady if I don't lowwr the engine temp. I know it is common for the Vette to run very warm before the fan comes on. There have been post on here quoting over 220deg.
