Windshield wipers come on by themselves

Default Windshield wipers come on by themselves

I have a 2001 Corvette C5 48,000 miles, all of a sudden today the wiper blades comes on by themselves jump up in the air and fall back down on the windshield while driving, anyone else had the same issue?

Yes it was washed yesterday and for two days before that we had rain

make sure your utters are clear,i think there are 3 ,all under wipermotor.snake your hand around the brake booster .ya have water in the wiper module ,its bolted to wiper motor underneath. you can hope that it will dry out or you can pull the whole thing out and dry it out.to test it the right way you should undo elect. jack under steering col. and see if it happens again.if it does the switch is okay.if you pull the wipermotor DONOT remove the center torx bolt on wiper arm

I could not locate the term "utters" in my book, would they just beneath the cowling under the windshield wipers?

yes. ya gadda snake yer arm around booster but basicly they are under wiper motor.look for wiperwasher tanks elect. connector ,one utter is 6 inchs to the rear

well it aint gonna fix the problem just stop it from occuring again,you may still have to pull motor assembly and remove module to dry out

Well I found two cleaned them out replaced them now the wipers don't work at all, but maybe that's a good sign, maybe it is the switch.
