Default Zero to 60 & quarter mile timers you can buy???????

I heard somewhere on the internet that you can buy 0 to 60mph timers that are dash mounted. A slight G force activates the timer (or something like that), and then when you reach 60 or 62 or 100 or whatever it's set to it'll stop the timer and show the seconds it took to reach that speed or get through the quarter mile. Do any of these new cars have such thing installed in them by factory? What are these timers called if anyone knows? Thanks much!

I answered my own question about 5 minutes after I posted this! I remembered someone mentioning an "Acceleration Timer", so I looked it up. Sure enough! Cool! Thanks For The Help Anyway! Happy Motoring!

One of the major auto magazines -- I think Car&Driver but maybe Motor Trend or Road&Track, had a test of about a dozen of these several months ago (not sure when but definately this year, though). Prices varied from below $200 to about $1200 and features, accuracy and particularly ease of using varied widely. You might look at that before buying. I was surprised how many there were and how many factors there were to consider that you won't think of until you're sitting in the car trying to get the thing to work well and cussing at it . . .

I have the G-tech which is okay. I like the portability: I can take it from my Vette to my Porsche, and my son uses it is his Camaro. Its seems to be fairly accurate, within about 3-4% on times and speeds.
