Default exterior color

Hi, I'm looking for info on paint colors for each model year, I'm considering changing colors but if the original is semi-rare I may repaint factory colors. From what I have read so far this color, "Frost Blue", only ran three years, I don't have the code with me, just looking for records or publications that might list yearly production numbers. Thanks for any help.

buck.i assume you have a 78?my books go up to 82. the only frost color that my books show is a frost beige. in 78 there is a dark blue and light blue. the light blue is paint code 26. the frost beige was only used on 81 and 82 models. the light blue with that code 26 was used in 77 and 78 and the car should have dark blue int.code 29c for cloth and 929 for leather. if i can find my production book i will tell you how many vettes had that color

Hi copleychamp, your correct in the assumption of my vette beimg a 78. The paint code is 267 of which I have derrived from the books to cross to the 26 light blue, I called it frost blue because I have a can of Ditzler lacuer that has the paint code and "Frost Blue" on it. The trim is 292, dark blue leather, the only color interior available in 78. I've allready reconditioned the interior with stock colors so my choice of paint is limited but as time passes I'm thinking the original color looks OK. I would appreciate any info you can come up with.

Hi dizz, if your color is factory for '76 then most likely it's not the same as my '78. The books show "Corvette Light Blue" for '77, '78, '79. My paint code is 26. This is an opaque color. no metallic, very light blue like a robin's egg. Many people look at it and think it's white, but I've read that older human eyes can't differentiate blue's and white.
