c5 oil usage

Default c5 oil usage

interested in buying a c5 i have heard some years have an oil usage problem what is the year cut off for these models whit this problem thanks for the help

As a rule LS engines do not use or leak oil unless something is really wrong. If you find an engine that is burning oil I would stay away from it unless you get about $3500-$4000 discount (you can replace the short block for that).

But no, I don't where you heard this byt they really aren't very prone to burning oil. Some early 97 and 98 LS1 had rings that suffered a slight oil loss, but we're talking nothing to worry about.

welcome to the forum if you find any car or truck burning oil stay away from it...the only way to fix a worn or beat motor is a rebuild wich could run into a lot of money....any thing that smokes is no smoking deal
