Default fast idle

Hi I need some help. My 1984 corvette first would run then stall and not start for a few minutes then start again. The repair person changed all vaccum lines. the fuel pump was checked and changed. the brain was checked and changed . the car runs now but the engine will not idle down. any suggestions. I am glad I have found this site I hope to share and learn from the best.

Sounds like you still have a vacuum leak, double check all vacuum lines, make sure the throttle body is not bypassing air, PVC hose, ect.

Welcome to CF!
I agree with Buckshot, sounds like you still have a vacuum prob. Check around the carb (throttle body)base, the gasket may have gone bad. Take some thick oil or vaselene and rub it around the base of the carb, if the idle drops,....there ya go! (change the gasket)
