Yanno .. back in '69 when I cruised Central Avenue in Phx, AZ .. in my '67 Hemi GTX 4-gear, 4:10 dana monster .. I useda laff at 'vettes. They just didn't make a tire sticky enough that you could run on the street then .. the small block vettes, if they were built right, could get me in 1st and 2nd .. then I would roar by 'em in 3rd an 4th .. the rat motors .. well .. they just fried them poor tires in the back while I ran off to the horizon on 'em.

Useda tell my friends ..'when I am old an slow, I'd get a 'vette'

-huge grin- .. I went out the other day with my wife, and we got a '98 black-on-black coupe beauty. Friend of mine told me 'they squeak, rattle, and have a harsh ride ..but yer gonna be scrapin ****-mobiles off the front bumper and surprisin the heck out of a lotta *very* expensive automobiles' .. he was laffin as he said it

My first impressions .. I remember drivin go-carts as a kid .. I have the same smile when I climb out of my Vette
Only .. it's on steroids. That LS-1 sure eats a lotta road up in a hurry .. I lak dat .. a lot

Just so you all know .. I am a gearhead . . I've been known to cut the floorpan entirely out from under a car an tube-frame it, set the engine back, rear end forward ..and just plain scare the heck outta relatives, most animals, and Toyota's.

My last project car was a '71 Duster with a 440 six-pac motor in it ..ended up tunnel-rammed, loud, bright orange, and just a blast to drive/bracket race for ~18 years in SoCal. I got hooked into a career field that required a lot of movin around, so my cars hadda go, and we lived out of apartments and knew alla U-haul box sizes by heart.

Finally .. I have returned to Phoenix ..decided to change careers ..beginnin to 'settle down' .. I think we broke our Wanderlust.
Ima be here for awhile, already lookin at Vortech ..an Scott Schafiroff's offerings ..and wonderin how long the IRS will take it

I had a '70 RR 440 w/6pack, that stomped everything in sight. Took down a '70 Vette once, I had him way out horsed.

Pix? ..yassir .. got a couple

The Duster I ran for a long .. long ..longlong time ..was just too much fun
Cornered like a cement truck, rode like a buckboard, ..street tires = no traction in any gear..but ooo-baby .. the 13" slicks @10lbs really worked well with the 8" converter and 4:89's ..she launched *hard* and straight.

The other is the pix of our Vette .. right offa C-nV's website when they had it up for sale there. Ima be smilin for awhile drivin this black beauty.
Already researchin what I need to keep it clean

Great! Another old gearhead. LOL. Same here, cut my teeth in the 60's @ high school. Had a 66 Chevelle with a 327 small block that would eat 383 Roadrunners for lunch but just couldn't hang with the 440's. It was all fun if we didn't get caught by the fuzz. Welcome to the forums.
