Hi folks, new to the site, not to the cars. I had a 79 L82 and sold it 2 years ago. I am about to put a deposit of a beautiful 05 Magnetic red Z51. I've been working on the dealer for about a week and I got him down to 39K.(he started at $42,900)It has 14000 miles on it and it's imaculate. The only thing that makes me nervous is that it was a lease, and I know how some people treat those. Oh well it's all a crap shoot anyway. After all my research, I think it's a fair price. I wouldappreciate any feedback on the car, price etc. Thanks! Shaun

Welcome to the site...sounds like a good deal to me. Is the car certified?

 

Yes the car is certified and still under 3/36 warranty until November 07. Of course they are trying to sell me an extended warranty, which doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'veread there have been electrical problems, and I'm always a little nervous buying anything in it's first model year(05).
The Kelly (Excellent cond retail is 43,500 and trade-in is 38,500) So I think I did OK. Let's face it, a car isn't really a great financial investment, but at 48, I've got a bad case of the "life is short" thing and IMHO there isn't a better looking, performing car on the road in this price range. I pick her up on Monday and I feel like a little kid at Christmas!!!

Dude, there's no way you will regret this decision. One ride in the Worlds Greatest Sports Car will put your mind in a serenic way, and you'll have a grin that is completely impossible to remove. Go for it!!! We did the same thing; on my 40th birthday, my wife turned to me and said "You want this car so bad, and life is terribly short.... go for it!"
