Default New guy

Hi all-
I just got my first Vette. It's a 76 L48. It hasn't moved or been started in about 8 years, so I've got some serious work to do. The guy i got it from was going to junk it, so I got it for free. I just got it towed to the house tonight, so I haven't given it a good look yet. The body seems to be in pretty good shape. I can't get the drivers door or the hood open, so I haven't checked out the engine yet. The only odd thing about it is it has the 78 -up style back end. Looking foward to the project!

Wow! What a cool project! No telling what the history or condition of the car is.

My recommendation, based on a couple of projects. Really try to get the car to start without doing anything major. Check the sump is there oil, or (hope not) oil and water in it. Anyway remove it and fill with cheap cheap oil. then remove the plugs and squirt a lot of penetrating oil in each cylinder, lput the plugs back in and let it sita week. Fix and test the starting electrics. Remove the plugs and try to Turn over the engine (if it isn't seized it will turn). Thn gradually fix stuff - ignition and fuel, etc.

I had two free or nearly free cars I got that actually srted and ran (one okay, the other, smoking). Never know.
