Haha, i gotta try and find that alligator for my pug Jamie. I tried to dress her up as a cowgirl (dog) last year and the hat came off first, then the scarf detatched from the pants and belt. Then the pants and belt were torn up from her chewing on them. Needless to say, she doesnt like the costumes too well lol.

Hi George,
I saw your post and couldn't agree more. My husband and I have 5 pets (was 6, lost one to cancer - still not over it) and they are all like our children. Thought you would get a kick out of these pictures.

Blessings,
Rita

Oh, yeah, George, . . . I read your earlier post about your monkeys. Showed it to my husband. We both thought they were soooo cute and I bet a handful. Seriously, any animal that will throw poop at you if you make it mad, well what can I say. BTW, how do you keep your wife's poodle alive or are they all friends? Yup, that earlier post was a real scream. Between you and TopSpeed, I was laughing so hard I was crying. And who is responsible for the saying "oogely, googely"? I find myself saying that one a lot since reading it.
Yup, gonna go back and find that earlier post and read it again.:D

Thanks for sending the pictures and thanks for the smiles.

I completely agree, George, completely. Our two cats are seriously in the same boat as our kids. I often worry about "what to do in case of emergency" with them... our hearts were so utterly broken when we discovered all the folks in the New Orleans area who lost their pets during the storm. We would be absolutely devastated if anything were to happen. They are such little souls, they are.:)Great post, as always, my friend.

"Great Googely Moogely!!!"

It is a good one but I can't take credit for it. I heard it on a Snickers comercial. The one where the old guy is painting the endzone for the Kansas City Chiefs but when he reallizes he spell "Chefs" he slaps his forhead and says "Great Googely Moogely!!" It's a classic.

Oh yea. My kids are well behaved and don't throw poo. LOL. actualy Coty can't stand to get his little hands dirty.

"The Poodle from Hell" does a good job of staying away from Coty but I can't say as much for the cats. They make the funniest face when the Codster gets hold of them. [sm=yikesomg.gif]

RE: Beware of the scary monsters!!

No apologies necessary, George. It is pretty obvious, there are several of us whom love our fur kids, too. They are such sweet souls. Couple that with the fact that you'll never pay tuition for them and it makes them that much more special. Although, sounds like someday you might be putting up bail for that bad boy Coty. :) We have dogs and cats here and they all get along just fine, but I know a monkey would be a real challenge. :D

Now, forgive me for getting personal, but where do the monkeys sleep? Please keep posting your pictures and stories . . . Vettes, pets, gotta love 'em all.

Peace.

blueshark 11-01-2006 06:21 PM

RE: Beware of the scary monsters!!

They sleep with us or in there respective cages. Holly loves her little hammok in her cage and being so little gets scared when she is out. Coty loves to watch TV with us and sleeps right in the middle of the bed when we let him. he wraps up in the blankets and sucks his Hind thumb. He's just like a little kid.

We have a bazillion cats outside too. too bad they don't catch the mice on the way in.

Here's a picture of him hangin' with Mama. He wasn't feeling good that day.

Hey, George, one more personal question:

>>The Poodle from Hell" does a good job of staying away from Coty but I can't say as much for the cats. They make the funniest face when the Codster gets hold of them. <<

Does Coty ever do anything like this to the cats?
My male dog was feeling his oats even at a very young age and wasted no time in abusing my poor cats.

He is the sweetest dog and a real lover!! :D:D ha, ha.

Sounds like we have real different cats - mine kill mice and sadly hummingbirds. We have rescued a few of the birds and once a baby mouse, but it makes me so sad when they kill the hummingbirds. I don't even know if it is intentional - I think they are just playing with them, but they snap there necks. :( You know, survival of the fittest - guess that's why I stay away from the nature shows. Too brutal for this city girl.

RE: Beware of the scary monsters!!

RJ, That's a great picture. Thats "bazacly" what Coty does to the cats. your pooch and Coty must be related. just remember Coty has four hands and the cats can't get away.
He gets a big ol'sh!t eatin' grin on his face and the cats look real surprized [sm=yikesomg.gif]while he's doing his thing. it is the funniest thing to see. He doesn't hurt them...physically anyway, I think they all need therapy by now. I'll try to get a picture of it, you'll die laughing. I can never hold the camera still enough to get the picture.
We now have a cat in the house as of last night and she(Isabella) has baged three mice already. the ones out side get birds and moles and sometimes rabbits. I hate seeing them play with them the way they do. I try to save the prey when I can but useualy it's too late. I guess it's all natures way.

RE: Beware of the scary monsters!!

George,
Definitely, keep sending your pictures. I love them and so do a lot of other people here on the Forum. When my husband saw Coty's picture, he said, " Hell, that is one big monkey!! He could kick the #!*@ out of you if he wanted to." I know what you mean about being able to take the picture - it is all too funny.

My one cat fell in love with my male dog at first sight. (1st pic) She loves to get h*mped! It is so embarressing when we have company. Haven't gotten a picture of them in the act, yet, but here they are in after-glow. Too bad people can't get along as well as some animals. The gray cat is the one we lost to cancer. He was so special, I know I will never get over losing him so soon. Sorry, I am in one of the pics, but I want you to see the size of my American Cocker Spaniels. They are purebreds, but huge for their breed. We always use them in our family portrait Christmas cards, but not the cats - they will have none of that. Ha, Ha.

My best to you and your family and keep the pics and stories coming.
Rita
p.s. Sorry,I had trouble loading some of the pics, but they can be seen in the attachment list.

My other half tries to keep me in check, too. My strategy is: bring home puppies and kittens that are only a 6-8 weeks old, so even the hardest of hearts can't turn them away. But if the truth be told, my husband loves them as much as I do and dotes on all of them.

You are right about cats . . . and it is not until you own a barking dog that you realize how special and wonderful cats are as pets. ;);)

Oh, what sweet babies you all have. Those faces are so adorable. I can't help but think of Blueshark with Coty everytime someone parks on top of me. Two night ago, I ran out, and parked away from the other cars, and when I came out, some little junk thing was almost on top of me. I didn't see a scratch but I have no idea how they got out of their car and missed me. All I could think was that Coty could have reached out and held them until I got back.

RE: Beware of the scary monsters!!

All I know is if there are not dogs and cats in Heaven, then it ain't Heaven!

Here are some famous quotations about cats from Mark Twain:

Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with a cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

A home without a cat--and a well-fed, well-petted and properly revered cat--may be a perfect home, perhaps, but how can it prove title?

urged that kings were dangerous. He said, then have cats. He was sure that a royal family of cats would answer every purpose. They would be as useful as any other royal family, they would know as much, they would have the same virtues and the same treacheries, the same disposition to get up shindies with other royal cats, they would be laughably vain and absurd and never know it, they would be wholly inexpensive, finally, they would have as sound a divine right as any other royal house...The worship of royalty being founded in unreason, these graceful and harmless cats would easily become as sacred as any other royalties, and indeed more so, because it would presently be noticed that they hanged nobody, beheaded nobody, imprisoned nobody, inflicted no cruelties or injustices of any sort, and so must be worthy of a deeper love and reverence than the customary human king, and would certainly get it.
Mark Twain

And if you have/had teenagers or know any, you;ll love this:

Subject: Cats and teenagers

For all of you with teenagers or who have had teenagers, you may want to
know why they really have a lot in common with cats:

1. Neither teenagers nor cats turn their heads when you call them by name.
2. No matter what you do for them, it is not enough. Indeed, all humane
efforts are barely adequate to compensate for the privilege of waiting on
them hand and foot.
3. You rarely see a cat walking outside of the house with an adult human
being, and it can be safely said that no teenager in his or her right mind
wants to be seen in public with his or her parents.
4. Even if you tell jokes as well as Jay Leno, neither your cat nor your
teen will ever crack a smile.
5. No cat or teenager shares you taste in music.
6. Cats and teenagers can lie on the living-room sofa for hours on end
without moving, barely breathing.
7. Cats have nine lives. Teenagers carry on as if they did.
8. Cats and teenagers yawn in exactly the same manner, communicating that
ultimate human ecstasy-a sense of complete and utter boredom.
9. Cats and teenagers do not improve anyone's furniture.
10. Cats that are free to roam outside sometimes have been known to return
in the middle of the night to deposit a dead animal in your bedroom.
Teenagers are not above that sort of behavior.

Thus, if you must raise teenagers, the best sources of advice are not other
parents, but veterinarians. It is also a good idea to keep a guidebook on
cats at hand at all times. And remember, above all else, put out the food
