Here's something I got as an email last week......sounds interesting and could possably work. oh well!

Body: ...in April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices.
Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station
in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.
There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up. If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that'sclose to3 BILLION) out of the oil companys
pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

I got that email too, I'll try that and well see what happends, with my luck the price will be $.30 higher on the 16th. Tuesday must be a slow day for gas sales as Exxon knocks off $.04 every Tuesday.
RE Lee: I could shift at a lower RPM if I had a stick. Besides it's springtime and I enjoy a ride with the T-Tops off so there wind resistance to further reduce my mileage.
I paid $3.289 today and thats the most it's cost since last year. PG

Top,

I checked the price last weekend when I was getting the propane tanks filled (the race gas pump is right next to the propane refill tank). The price had gone up to $4.25USD/gal of 110 octane. I don't think that it works out to be such a good deal at that price. To mix and get 94 octane it would be about $3.50/gal. That is, if octane mixing is linear (which I don't know for sure).

Race gas probably sits around for awhile and the price is probably based on cost to make etc (Unlike pump gas which is commodity priced).

We have two gas stations that sell race fuel in our area. We have a motocross track and the racers use race fuel. We also have over 100 lakes in our county and there are many people who think that they need race fuel for their boats.

Riiiight, thanks Riley! Yeh, I haven't seen that up here to be honest... small city type stuff I imagine. We do have a track here, though, so you'd think someone would sell it.

Keep me posted on your thoughts, my friend, and if it comes to it I'll start diggin' a little here to see if I can find a supply.

All these examples do NOT imply that gasoline is cheap;
it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are....
You will be really shocked by the last one!!!!
(At least, I was...)

Compared with Gasoline......

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ... $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ..........$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 .... $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 ......... $10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ......... $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ... $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .. $123.20 per gallo n

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ....... . $25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .....$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon!
$21.19 for WATER
and the buyers don't even know the source
.
(Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

Ever wonder why computer printers are so cheap?

So they have you hooked for the ink.
Someone calculated the cost of the ink at................
you won't believe it...................
but it is true.........................
$5,200 a gal. (five thousand two hundred dollars)

So, the next time you're at the pump,
be glad your car doesn't run on
water, Scope, or Whiteout, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil
or God forbid, Printer Ink!!!!!

And - If you don't pass this along to at least one person,
your muffler will fall off!!
