Help me out. F430 vs C6 Z06
Im tired of having to backup corvettes solo on m3forum.com, can any of you guys come and chime in?
This is the thread:

This is getting out of hand.
I layed it down like this to people:
-Z06 is 70 lbs lighter than the F430
-Z06 has more power
-Better Fuel mileage
-Initial price costs less
-More reliable
-Parts cost less
-Faster in quarter mile
-Faster around track
And yet im still getting fanboys on my ***.

And rightly so, I think. There is more to a car than just performance. The ZO6 is a great bargain for $70K or so, but the F430 is a great $175000 car.
I'm not sure if the ZO6 is actually faster than the F430 - both are incredibly fast, but I have seen the two nearly side by side (at a car show), and been around both on the street: there really seems little comparison, in my book the Ferrari is "just as fast" (the difference, either way, being too small to really matter), and it has better paint and finish, a much much better interior, and a real "presence" -- it just sort of dominates the scene wherever it is, that the 'vette doesn't have. I have no doubt that, given the choice between the two, with price not part of the equation, the vast majority of folks would pick the F430 - I sure would.
This doesn't mean the ZO6 is not a great, great car. It simply means that Ferrari really gives you something for that extra $100,000.

I'm not gettin' into a flamefest, It never changes anyones mind.
Ferrari? If I could afford one, I'd have a '70 Dino.
I could really care less what someone else thinks of Vettes, mine in particluar,
I love my C3! Anybody that don't like it, don't have to look at it!

Always loved the Dino. Great little car, with real curves.
As to the flamefest, I figure it never hurts to try to be a voice of reason, but I agree. It never ceases to amaze me how fanatical some people can be about this car or that car, the most usual thing being that in almost all cases they have never owned or even driven the car they are talking about.
