Hey!
I was checking out the competition on ebay and came across pre sales for the new gt 500..
this thing weighs almost 4k lbs!!

Yeah, it is a pretty nice car, but the Ford engine is very heavy and like the '03 Cobra it is just plain heavy: I thgink the convertible weighs in at about 3900 lbs or more. Still, it would be a fun car - the '03 Cobra sure is.

WELL IT IS A NICE LOOKING CAR.I LIKE HOW THEY CHANGED THE NOSE FOR THE COBRA. IT LOOKS LIKE A SOLID SLED.IT WILL PROBLEY BE A NICE CAR TO OWN.FOR WHAT THE STICKER PRICE WILL BE , I WOULD RATHER BUY A VETTE.BUT THAT IS JUST ME.NO MATER HOW YOU SHAKE IT EVERY BODY IS TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE VETTE.YAHOO

I too think it is a great looking car, but when I heard the numbers (both 0-60 and 1/4 mile) I was really that impressed. I can't remember them off the top of my head, but for a car putting out almost 500hp it wasn't coming anywhere near the Z06.

PLAY, i have the new motor trend magazine they got the mustang war vs the camaro, the camaro quarter mile time is 11.4 secAT 130.5MPH the mustang is 11.6 sec AT 128.2 MPH get this the camaro is the ZL1 505 HP @6300 RPMAND 470LB@4800RPM...THE MUSTANG GT500 SUPERCHARGED475HP@5500RPM AND 475LB-FT @ 4500RPM FORD HAS TO HAVE A SUPER CHARGER TO KEEP UP WITH THE ZL1.IF I AM STILL ALIVE WHEN THE CAMARO COMES OUT I WILL BUY ONE, LOL.[sm=patriot.gif]..................CHECK OUT THE VENTS I MADE THEM. THEY LOOK LIKE THE Z06 VENTS. WHAT DO YOU THINK

Well those numbers aren't bad. I could have swore I originally heard that the Mustang was running 12's...


...Those vents came out good. What did you make them out of?

I MADE THEM OUT OF FIBERGLASS , AND BONDO GLASS. THANKS.FOR ASKING.THE INFO ON THE MUSTANG AND COMARO CAME FROM MOTOR TREND, YOU DID HEAR RIGHT THEY HAVE OTHER NUMBERS TO, I BELEVE THESE ARE WITH JUST STOCK V8'S HEAR ARE THOSE NUMBERS CAMARO12.2 SEC@119,9 MPH AND HAS 403 HP @ 5700 RPM, THE MUSTANG 12.3 SEC @120.7 MPH AND HAS 389 HP @5500 RPM

Let's remember that all those numbers in Motor Trend's Camaro vs. Mustang aritcle this month are simulated by a computer program. I'm n ot that impressed with its accuracy either, but any way you look at it, a 5050 Hp Camaro, if and when GM really builds one, will be quite nice. but I would expect something more like 11.9 in the quarter, maybe low 12s, definately not an 11.4.
