Thought you guys might want to check out the car that is aimed at taking the world record for top speed away from the Bugatti Veyron. This thing is pretty amazing, making 1180 bhp and 961 lb./ft or torque. But what is even more amazing is that it is powered by a 6.3 liter, C5R-based V8 with twin turbochargers.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention for those not familiar with SSC they are an American company based in Washington. Good to see the U.S. going at the foreign exotics head on.
