Default Z06 or ZR1?

Which do you prefer, the Z06 or the ZR1?

I'm assuming that you mean late model Z06 and not the original 1963 version.

Added:

From a collector standpoint: the original C2 version. From a driver standpoint: the C5.

I'm assuming (and voted) while assuming this meant the C5ZO6 vs the C4 ZR1. -- I'd take the ZR1

The original ZO6? Not even close: I'd love one, but not going to pay the price.
The new ZO6? Different performance class, but new, not in the same league.

The C5ZO6. Nice car (I should know). But not destined to be a classic - clearly the best C5 but there are scads of them and its pretty standard stuff today, 405 HP.

That said, the ZR1 is exotic, not that fast (slower than the C5 ZO6, at least thte final 405 HP model) and relatively expensive to maintain and tune. The C4 is not as modern and comfortable as the C5. But the ZR1 is a rare model and I think coming to be recognized as a very desireable, interesting, and collectable model. Likely to appreciate but more important, just nice to own.

It all depends on what you want. The current ZO6 is king or the street, for now, but that will pass in a year or two and I'm not certain if or when it will ever really be a classic. The original ZO6 is rare and interesting but just doesn't appeal for some reason.

Personally, if I could pick any model 'vette at all, any time, there'd be two I would be hard pressed to choose between (and not sure which I'd pick): its hard to ignore the first one --a '53 (at around 11 seconds to 60, by far the slowest 'vette ever made), but I really want a '56 (single headlight, roll up window, 283V8, 4-speed) which I consider to be the earliest model where Chevy got all the elements together that make a "real" vette.

That's interesting that a car (with identical gearing)with 405 hp can beat a car with 405 hp?[sm=interesting.gif][sm=smiley25.gif][sm=smiley22.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=helpout.gif].

EDIT...
Since the car with only 405 hp has 405 hp, it can beat the 405 hp car that has 405 hp.

I just had to think on that one for a minute there, but now I get it!

Oh yeah -the poll... Answer 'C': '96 Grand Sport, since the poll didn't mention power! But I'll settle for the '63 Grand Sport w/377ci & 550hp. About 1.5 HP/cubic inch. WOW!

How many HP's/cubic inch Z06???

All 405 HP cars are not equal: the 405 ZO6 C5 will outgun any stock ZR1: maybe its horses are bigger than the ZR1s, but for sure the torque seems a lot more. As the the original Gran Sport, it was a pure custom built race car and not anything I would want to own (I've owned one classic race car, that's more than enough).

Not so fast again there, BorlaBreath!!!

Not according to GS Registry. To meet criteria, the vehicle had to be a street production vehicle. The plan [loopholed] was to make those vehicles for the street. Got weblinks if necessary
