well, it is a 2001 m6 with all options.

i have had it 1 month, and already put the cray manta 19s and 20s on it, corsa exhaust, cold air, removed cats, and painted the exhaust and bottom portion of rear satin black and lowered it.

i got this car for a steal, and it looks new inside and out. just had tune up, and all new hubs and bearings installed.

no pops, creaks, rattles, leaks, its so smooth and runs hard.

soon to install a nitrous kit, and lower the front more.

well here are the pics.

Mmmmmm......Bigger, heavier wheels.....slower

.....intake, tune, and exhaust.....faster

I'd say the nitrous will get you past stock horsepower - that's good!

Seriously, congrats on getting an 01. I've had my 01 since it had 3 miles on the odometer. Since then, I've compiled some tips you might find helpful:

My next project is to resolder those pesky resistors that cause the temperature display to fade away - should be fun!

thanks, i know the wheels arent the best in the world, but i love the way they look.

it is fast enough as it is. and is my daily so not worried bout racing right now.

the nitrous is going to just be a conversation piece as the bottle will be coated red with fire extinguisher stickers on it. :)

the real hp will come on when its paid for and the tt kit goes on. as for now, it gets my back and forth to work, and brings in more snatch then i can handle. so im happy with my bigger heavier wheels lol ;)

I hear yuh; I bought my son some 16-inch Black Racing Pros for his 97 Civic CX (the hatch). They are gloss black with polished lip and center. The tire/wheel combo weight is almost exactly the same as his old 14-inch steelies and donut tires, so unsprung weight was unchanged. It does seem that black is the new chrome when it comes to wheels.

I decided not too long ago that instead of adding power to my C5, I might just get a flingable lightweight car for days when I go to the gym or if it rains. That way, I'll have a "go-cart" and a jet fighter vehicle. Don't laugh, but I'd like to get an MX5 as that second car. My 89 MX6 GT turbo is getting old, so one of these days..........

Congrats on the excellent purchase! Looks great! I am a firm believer in "squeeze" as I have used it in the past and have never had an issue with it and neither should you (as long as you know the do's & don'ts).

Gorgeous! My vote is to forget the nitrous and further lowering. Wheels are righteous.
