I am positive that i want a corvette for my first car (im trying to follow in my dads footsteps). I am however trying to decide wheather or not i want a 1974-1975 C3 L82 $6000 or under. Or a C4 corvette for $6000 or under. What kind should i expect more mechanical problems from? And what would be a smarter choice for a first corvette?

 

The money you indicate you will be spending tells me you will be getting a fixer upper vette. Look at lots before making a choice. C4s are the best overall car. Find a mechanic you trust (one that works on vettes is best) take the one you are thinking of buying and have him look it over and give you the news. Not just the good news, but the bad. Check prices & condition discriptions on web, in the newspapers, auto trader books. Keep emotion out of your search. One final thing. Working on your vette can make it seem more like your own, is fun and educational.
