So I have decided to seriously start trying to sell my vette. As I now relize I have other priorities, I should have focused on first. I dont necicarly HAVE to sell it, but if I dont it will take me 8 years to pay off my CC debt.

So I took the car down to CarMax and they said the car was in Exellent shape. And offered me $23k, which kinda got to me since the 02 vette they had on the lot only has 4kless miles than mine (mine is at 38,900) and they wanted $32k. They also told me that my extended warrenty with GM was a non issue and I could cancel it and get some money back from that.

I still owe $23,800 on the car so I would have to take $800 with me when I sell it. But whats really getting to me is that if I take it back to them on monday (which its looking like I will) they are gonna make nearly 10k off me :-( If they would have just offered me $25k I would have sold it to them right then, and I know 2k isnt much to really worry about in the grand scheme of things, but it gives me a sour feeling in my stomach. I think I'm gonna try Corvettes of Houston before Igo back to CarMax, and see if they give a better offer.

Ahwell. I do know I will have another one someday. Maybe then I can get a C6 :-)

FYI I did put a add in Auto Trader but my phone was slammed with solicitors and I will never put my phone number in a auto trader add again because of it. ( and not one single call from a real person that was intrested)

Why don't you post it in the for sale forum here with some pictures. you could also try ebay with a reserve. I know someone who is in the market for a white or silver auto of this sort of price range.

If you don't necessarily HAVE TO sell, then don't sell to a dealer. They HAVE TO make $$$ when they sell it. Sell to an individual, who would rather buy from an individual, and who doesn't HAVE TO make $$$.

That's of course, if you don't HAVE TO sell immediately...

Go to ebay, and research - really research - under 'completed listings only', what they're going for.

I agree. Don't fault the dealer, he's just trying to make a living. BTW, he's not going to GET $32k for that other vette on the lot. That's what he'd like to get, but he'll deal down to $28k.

If you can afford to hang on to it for a month or three then sell it yourself. Also, look it up on kbb.com and edmunds.com to see what they say about resale value.
