Would you change your own front turn signal or take it to the dealer?

I would try to change it, I changed the gear on my headlight and it wasn't too bad, got some good directions from the forums. Worst case you can't figure it out and take it to the dealer.

I would definately do it myself, In fact I just did.
Not bad, and I did both sides right away, and also changed the marker lamp. I was a little hesitant at first, but went in from underneath, and it is a little tight in there, but using a mirror to see where the locking tab was at helped alot. Don't forget to push this tab in, and it will twist easily, otherwise i could see where the tab would break off. Took me about 30 minutes for both sides.
I asked the dealer about doing this, and they wanted $85.00.
and that was just the labor, UNBELIEVABLE!

Cool
glad to hear you were able to take care of that.
That was unbelievable what the dealer wanted to charge me. I think they do that because they really don't want to hassle with something as simple as that.

Actually, the dealers love to just get your car in the shop, no matter how minor. They'll fix the prob, but then they allways find something else they recomend needs done. Since it's already in the shop people say, "sure, go ahead"! Now they got cha!!! They'll rebuild the whole car if you let them. Some will make up probs and tell you that this "wigget" or that "thingamajig" is bad and needs replacing. It's always best to do it yourself, or with a little help from your friends (here at CF ). $85.00 an hour, very common, I've seen $115!!! (especially for Vettes).
