Is there anyone who would be willing to look over a 1987 Coupe for me, located in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY? It's tough for me to get there from New Zealand. Thanks much.

If I was thinking of making a long distance purchase I would contact a pro in auto surveying. These people are located on the web all over country, and there reliable.Yes they cost money, but you got to see their reports. Their description of a car is down to the minute scratch. They are not trying to sell you a car their selling a service that is a legal documentation of a object. I knew somebody who bought a hot rod from some pictures and the word of a non pro and shipped a car 2000 mile and got a piece of junk for $17500+$1000 shipping. Ebay motors USA advertises these services. Good Luck

Good advice. I'll do a search. There's also something in the USA called Car Fax. What's that about? Cheers from Down Under

Carfax, Autochek, etc., is good ONLY if they show something bad. If they show nothing, that's what you know - NOTHING! Beware.

Don't you have to convert to right hand drive?

Kiwi, To find a inspection survey company near your car your looking for, just hit the web under autoinspection or auto survey and w/ the zip code of where the car is you should be ok. Carfax and other car history services are based on insurance or police reports or anything with a paper trail. The car survey companys give you a independant report on everything from body/ drivetraindefects, tire condition, interior and undercarriage condition. Some will even send pictures. For about $100 its worth the investment even if you dont buy.Good Luck Welcome from way up here.

Don't have to convert to RHD if 20 years old or older. BTW I lived in Essex, CT for 20 years, YANKEECORVETTE.
