NEW MEMBER. I was try to find the standard size of the compact spare tire that was used on this vehicle. The spare I have hangs a little lower then other corvettes of the same year . I observe about 2 inches of the spare is touching the aluminum cross bar behind the bumper. It appears to be properly seated in the carrier, and the compact spare I have does have the yellow warning label stating it is a corvette spare. Thank you.

 

i cannot answer this question, but if you call a dealership, and tell them that you need one, their computer system will include a factory size...there may be two different sizes...i used to work for a dealership, and every part of a car is listed in the system.

 

I had to use my spare tire once and had difficulty getting the spare back into the cradle and raising it to the original height. The spare tire could be seen just as yours, about 2 inches. I finally figured out that the arm that supports the cradle in the rear of the car was out of its correct position. I looked at a C4 for sale at a local dealership and was able to see the correct position of the arm. Once I was able to get the arm back into its position the tire was raised back and could not be seen anymore. You will have to remove the rear license plate in order to figure it out.
