Gentlemen — I JUST took shipping delivery of a 1964 C2 restomod from a distant state. This is my first corvette and classic car ownership experience. This a humbling question to have to ask, but hey — I have to dive in and get started — and haven’t been able to find the answer on-line. So … here it goes: Is the parking brake engaged/ON when it is pulled out or pushed in? You would think I would be able to tell, but I’m uncertain if it is working properly.

 

First- congratulations on your new ride, when you can, post some pictures
now your question , if it’s like the typical hand brake of that era, by pulling the lever out it applies the parking brake.
You can check to make sure it’s working by applying the parking brake, putting the car in neutral and trying to move the car MAKE SURE YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE IS IN THE DRIVERS SEAT in case the brake isn’t holding.

Welcome to the forum. IIRC, there's a red lite that comes on when the brake is on and key is in the run position.

For some reason your photos didn't come through. Did you use the Go Advanced key next to the Post Reply key to add them?
