Default Soft Top Delete??

Hey all,
Ijust purchased a 1963 corvette. It is a hard top convertible and I just purchased the car from its second owner since 1965. He claims this is a soft top delete car. Is there such a thing? If there is I'm not familiar with it. I have the original window sticker and it does not say anything about a soft top on it or being included. Just wondering if this was a common thing in 63? If anyone can shed some light on this it would really help. Thanks..

I am not an expert on C1 and C2 cars although I was an enthusiast even back then and around them a lot. I don't recall ever hearing of a "soft-top" delete option on any chevy convertible, even those few early (60s) ZO6 convertibles. As far as I know all Corvette convertibles came with fabric tops.

Could be the soft-top was "deleted" by some previous owner.

OK. So all vettes in 63 that came with a removeable hard top did come with a soft top as well?

One other question I have...where would the build sheet be located on a 63. I was able to retrieve the build sheet from my 69 vette on the gas tank. Would this one be located in the same place. The owner I purchased it from has had it since 65 and it has been in his garage for the past 20 years. I know c-3's very well but am new to the C-2 and have been looking for one for the past 5 years. Thanks for the help.

softtop was standard for roadster, adding hardtop with softop was extra cost option
or buyer could choose hardtop and delete softtop as even trade no cost option, thereby hardtop only car. and the car would be missing the mounting holes for softtop frame.

tank sticker started in 67 so no build sheet for you
